Independent, non-profit institution of higher education
15.10.2009Moscow University Touro is an independent, non-profit institution of higher education, licensed and accredited by the State Committee of Higher Education of the Russian Federation (1764 of 26 February 2009 AA № 001800, license AA № 002017 of 23 July 2009 registration № 2008). Moscow University Touro works under the contract with Touro College, New York. Touro College is accredited by the Comission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, 3624 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104 - Telephone (215) 662-5605.
Moscow University Touro was established in February 1991 at the former Soviet Mission to the United Nations, with an agreement witnessed by the former Soviet Ambassador to the United Nations, Yuli Vorontsov, and the United States Ambassador to the United Nations, Thomas Pickering.
Establishing Moscow University Touro was the first time in the history of Russia that an American institution of higher education would operate on Russian territory.
