Transfer to American Universities and Colleges

Let me begin at the beginning. In 1991 when I became president of the first American university in Russia, offering American education in Moscow, I felt that we were facing one of the greatest challenges in higher education in Russia. I believed, and believe to this day, that undergraduate and graduate degrees stand for the highest achievement that a university can confer upon an individual. After all, the students must learn not only about their chosen field of study but about the intricacies of life itself.
I am certain that life is changing just as rapidly today as it was when I first established Moscow University Touro. Business has become a global concern, with economies driving unprecedented growth around the globe. The world of business has become a world of ideas, as the dot-com revolution has obviously altered all existing rules. Technology is changing the way in which we conduct business in every sector. Yet, people with a mastery of the fundamental business skills are in greater need now than ever.
Preparing students for this new and more complex world has been and remains a rewarding challenge. We realize that our goal must not only entail producing well-trained, technically sophisticated graduates, but preparing our students to be the top leaders of Russia today.
In the past twenty years, through the dedication and hard work of MUT's world-class faculty, we have produced a cutting-edge program that is unique to undergraduate and graduate western education in Moscow, in Russia. It pleases me to state that we have attracted the best students, retained the very best curriculum and created an environment that develops and hones tomorrow's leaders.
The young men and women who study in English in Moscow University Touro, from thirty two countries around the world, have become a part of a unique culture. Our students and alumni represent the epitome of knowledge, integrity, and the striving for excellence in the business arena.

- По каким специальностям и направлениям ведется подготовка на факультетах Московского Института Туро?
- Наш ВУЗ предлагает следующие программы обучения: Бакалавриат (BSc) в области бизнес администрирования и управления, экономики и менеджмента, а также единственную аккредитованную Ассоциацией высших учебных заведений Центральных Штатов (США) программу MBA в Москве, где обучение MBA на английском языке ведется с первого до последнего предмета.Для абитуриентов, которые не владеют английским языком, институт предлагает программу ESL (английский как второй язык). Для всех желающих круглый год работают подготовительные курсы для поступающих, курсы подготовки к сдаче TOEFL и GMAT. Предлагаются также курсы GRE и GAAP.
- Какие перспективы открывает перед выпускниками вашего вуза обладание «двойным дипломом»?
- Перед студентами, обладающими двумя дипломами, открываются широкие возможности: американский диплом позволяет без прохождения процедуры нострификации документов об образовании устроиться на работу в любую международную компанию в любом месте земного шара или же продолжить обучение в любом вузе США, Европы и Азии; российский диплом имеет статус государственного документа о высшем образовании и позволяет беспрепятственно найти работу в любой государственной структуре. Еще одно преимущество двух дипломов это то, что наличие у сотрудника двух документов об образовании, а в особенности об MBA образовании, позволяет ему претендовать на увеличение в несколько раз заработной платы.
- Скажите несколько слов об открытии вуза в Москве.
- Институт был основан в феврале 1991 года, когда в российской миссии при ООН состоялось подписание соглашения об его открытии. В церемонии подписания участвовали посол России Юлий Воронцов и посол США Томас Пиккеринг. В 1996 мы первыми стали предлагать на российском рынке MBA образование, сотрудничая с таким известным американским вузом, как Даулинг Колледж (Лонг Айленд). Начиная с 2005 года, мы открыли новые программы MBA в Москве с нашим постоянным партнером Туро Колледжем (Нью Йорк).
- В заключение хотелось бы узнать о дальнейших перспективах и планах на будущее?
- В сфере MBA образования мы планируем открытие новых специализаций, а именно в области спортивного менеджмента, здравоохранения и менеджмента в чрезвычайных ситуациях. Уже работают и довольно успешно такие программы, как программа MBA в области кадрового менеджмента, управления в недвижимости, лидерства в организации, и другие.
